UI How to Add Test Data Categories to a Suite

In this lesson, you will learn how to add a Test Data Category (or G-Case) Category to a Test Data Case Suite.

A Test Data Case Suite can have one or many Test Data Categories. Categories define the type of testing. For example, Test Data Cases can be set up for Unit, Load, Negative, or Integration testing.

Each Test Data Case Suite must have at least one Category, which must have at least one Test Data Case (or G-Case).

When Should Categories be Used?

Test Data or G-Case Categories should be used any time you want to generate test data based on a defined group of test cases.

How to Add Test Data Categories

  • Select the Test Data Case Suite within the G-Cases Management Dashboard.
  • Click on the Add G-Case Category button.

  • Use the Name drop-down menu to select a Test Data Category.
  • Click the Save button.

The Pencil Icon can be used to change the Category Name and the Trash Can Icon can be used to remove a Category from a Test Data Case Suite.

Once a Category has been added, you will be able to add Test Data Cases (or G-Cases) to the Category.
