UI Create Default Test Data Rule

In this lesson, you will learn how to create a Default Test Data Rule in the Test Data Rule Suite that was created in Lesson 2 of this module.

What is a Default Test Data Rule?

Default Rule is a default test data rule that can be set up and used when a test data record does not meet any of the defined Conditions within the set.

The following applies to Default Rules:

  • Only 1 Default Rule can be added to a Test Data Rule Suite.
  • A Default Rule can have several Actions.
  • Each Action is defined for 1 Domain and 1 Attribute.

When should you use a Default Test Data Rule?

  • Any time you want to ensure an action is taken when defined conditions for all rules in the suite are not met.

Step 1: Add a Default Test Data Rule to the Suite

Select the Test Data Rule (or G-Rule) Suite within the G-Rules Management Dashboard.

Click on the Add G-Rule Default button.

Enter a Description for the Test Data Rule and click the Save button.

The Default Test Data Rule will appear as shown below. Now, we can add one or more Actions to the Rule.

Step 2: Add One or More Actions to the Default Rule

For the Default Test Data Rule or G-Rule Default, we will be adding one action.

Click on the Add Action button.

Within the Add G-Rule Condition dialog window, we have configured the following:

  • Domain – Account
  • Attribute – rewardLevel
  • Value Type – Constant
  • Value – Basic

Click the Save button once finished.
