How to Copy an Existing Project Version

Project Version Copy is a feature that lets users quickly replicate everything in an existing GenRocket Project Version.

It’s common to have software applications go through life cycles. Testers need test data versions to test the old application and a different version to test the new software application. GenRocket Project Version Copy makes it easy to create different versions of your Project to exactly match the different versions of your software.

Note: A Project Version can only be copied once every 24 hours.

How to Copy an Existing Project Version

Step 1: Select a Project within the Project Dashboard.

Step 2: Expand the Manage drop-down menu within the Project Versions Pane.

Step 3: Select the Copy Version option.

Step 4: Select a Project Version within the drop-down menu. This is the Project Version that will be copied.

Step 5: Enter a Version Number and Code Name for the new Project Version. Then click the Save button.

Step 6: Click OK to close the dialog window.

The status of the Project Version Copy can be viewed within the Queue Status Pane in the Project Dashboard:

Once the process has finished, you will see the new Project Version within the Project Versions Pane:

The new version will be a precise copy of the version selected within the Copy Project Version dialog window (Step 4).
