G-Repository Client Overview

This lesson introduces G-Repository Client, which can communicate with a G-Repository or directly to G-Repository Cloud to perform the following primary tasks:

  • Request deltas from a given G-Repository Server or directly from G-Repository Cloud
  • Update changes to a local repository to mirror its deltas
  • Run Scenarios, Scenario Chains, Scenario Chain Sets, Story Suites, and Story Epics via G-Repository Command-Line Run Options
  • Collect and send stats to G-Repository Server or directly to G-Repository Cloud

Using G-Repository with G-Repository Client

Each user can set up a G-Repository Client on their local machine. An Organization Admin can set up a G-Repository on a local machine behind the Corporate Firewall.

Each G-Repository Client communicates with a G-Repository to retrieve and run the most current Scenarios and instruction sets behind the Corporate Firewall.

G-Repository

The G-Repository obtains the latest Scenarios and instruction sets from G-Repository Cloud and sends statistics back to G-Repository Cloud, which G-Analytics uses for reporting.

This reduces the number of connections that must be made via the Internet to G-Repository Cloud and ensures each user has the most current, up-to-date Scenarios and instruction sets for test data generation.

G-Repository Client

The G-Repository Client on each user’s local machine will communicate with a G-Repository to obtain the latest files. This is accomplished without connecting to the Internet and done behind the Corporate Firewall.

Users can run Scenarios, Scenario Chains, Scenario Chain Sets, Story Suites, and Story Epics using the G-Repository Command-Line Run Options.

Using G-Repository Client Only

A user can set up a G-Repository Client on their local machine that communicates directly with G-Repository Cloud.

The G-Repository Client automatically retrieves the most up-to-date Scenarios and instruction sets. Users can run Scenarios, Scenario Chains, Scenario Chain Sets, Story Suites, and Story Epics using the G-Repository Command-Line Run Options.
