As we make improvements to GenRocket, one of our main focuses is always on speed and efficiency. \u00a0One area where speed really matters is in creating Domains, Attributes, and assigning Generators to those Attributes. list of websites<\/a> \u00a0Currently, it is extremely simple to do this but depending on how large a project’s business model is, it can be time consuming. \u00a0To help negate a lot of this boilerplate modeling we came up with the concept of a Preset.<\/p>\n

A GenRocket Preset is a common use Domain consisting of a set of Attributes with best practice Generators assigned to them. \u00a0As Software Engineers ourselves, having worked on many, many projects over the course of our careers, we recognize that most business models will consist of the same core set of Domains; User, Person, Customer, Account, Address, Company, Department, and the list goes on.<\/p>\n

Any of our core Presets can be added to an existing GenRocket Project either by using the context menu on the Preset…<\/p>\n

…or by clicking the Add To Project button on the Presets description page.<\/p>\n

Simply type a new name, if necessary, and specify the Package for the Domain.<\/p>\n

A new Domain based on the chosen Preset will appear in your Project tree with all your other Domains.<\/p>\n

If that’s all you need, you’re done! \u00a0Otherwise, simply modify the new Domain to better represent your data by customizing the Attributes and Generators.<\/p>\n

For standard projects we feel like this is about a 75% speed increase in modeling your data. \u00a0This feature is currently available in GenRocket 2.0 which has just been released. back links<\/a> . \u00a0We will constantly be looking for new Presets to add to the core set. \u00a0And we’re currently working on enhancements to the Preset feature which will include the following:<\/p>\n
